Manila Coffee Festival 2019

Last March 7 to March 9, the First Ever Manila Coffee Festival was held at World Trade Center Metro Manila that also served as the venue of the Annual Philippine Coffee Championships.

The Philippine Coffee Championships has 4 competitions namely: Philippine National Latte Art, Philippine Brewers Cup, Philippine National Barista Competition and Philippine Cup Tasters National Competition.

Aside from being a venue to the annual Philippine Coffee Championships, the first-ever Manila Coffee Festival offered a lot — a coffee exhibit by Stanley Ong, different talks about coffee and business, performances by different bands/duos and even a woman who plays Harp. Also, there were booths that showcased their products and sells them, and my favorite — the Single Origin Area that became an avenue for independent and small Coffee Bean roasters to showcase their beans by allowing the Sponsors to extract coffee for public tasting.

Here are some of the photos I took during the 3 day festival:

Not to mention, Elias Wicked Ales & Spirits successfully launched the IPAk, a Coffee Beer collaboration with Coffee Science Center. It was a hit for both coffee and beer enthusiasts/drinkers.

IPA + Kape = IPAk

As a coffee enthusiast, I have high hopes for the Local Coffee Industry to boom even more and those who compete for both National and International Coffee Competitions will be known and raise the flag of the Philippines. And because of this competition, I am more determined to push further and join competitions. I know, it will take time, but I would definitely want to level-up on my love for coffee.
